So, the system won't recognize images on my SD card(s) I tried two to make sure one wasn't broken. This did not occur until today when I updated to Windows 10. Whether I stick the SD card directlyinto the comp's SD reader or transfer it through my camera via USB port, it says there are no files in the SD card's folder.

The reader does show the sub-folders within the card/camera, whereas the USB method does not. In both cases, I click on the D3000 device(Nikon D3000 SLR digital camera), it shows the card's folder AND says there is data on it, but once you click into the folder, it is empty. I even tested this out via USB by taking random pictures while the camera was plugged into the PC and watched the freespace on the card decrease. I browsed the internet, and there are other people with the same problem; but, i have yet to see any solutions. I'm hoping this is just a patchable glitch from Windows 10.

I also checked to see if the SD driver was working and up-to-date,and it was. Though, the driver should have nothing to do with it if I am transferring through my camera's USB cord. I have the same issue and have gone through the recommended steps regarding the USB controllers and drivers and the problem persists.I have a Nikon D3000 and there is NOT an issue with the camera being detected when I connect it to my computer via USB. Windows 10 sees the camera and the SD card but when I open the card's directory, there are no files found. If I remove the card fromthe camera and place it directly into the SD slot on my laptop, the files are there. Although a workaround in a pinch, constantly removing the SD card is NOT a viable solution as it drastically increases the chance of the SD card becoming corrupted. Please advise.
