Prt, and the CadKey99/19 viewer must be installed on the workstation.CadKey Viewer SetupTo view CadKey measuringinstructions, CadKey 99/19 Viewer must be installedon the workstation viewing the files.
The CadKeyviewer can be downloaded free attechcad.comEnsurethat you are downloading CadKey 99/19 and not CadKey V21 viewer. Once the viewer is downloaded,install it on the workstation using the default settings.
Install thefile in the default directory C:CK99ViewerCKView.exe.NOTE: Files cannot be viewed using full versions of CadKey software – DataLyzer® is configured to only openfiles using the CadKey viewer because we do not wantto risk unauthorized changes being made from DataLyzer® stations.DataLyzer® File Attachment SetupCadKey files are attached to characteristics in the same way as other filetypes in DataLyzer® Spectrum. To attach a fileto a characteristic for use with CadKey Viewer, openthe characteristic at the Hub or using the Stand Alone software. In the leftcenter of the characteristic setup window, click the “attachments” button.In the next window, press the first available attachment button. A file selectwindow will appear. Browse the local drive or network neighborhood and selectthe file.When you assign the file to the characteristic, a“Preview” button appears next to the “attachment” button and the file's name isshown in the button.
Press the “preview” button to view the attached file.Thereafter, when the DataLyzer® characteristic is selected for data entry (foruse locally or at a Satellite) the button(s) will be available in the measuringinstructions area.CadKey Viewer must be installed on all computers that will access themeasuring instructions in DataLyzer® Spectrum. NOTE: All client stations that are sharing attached files mustbe mapped identically to the location of the attached files. If files arelocated on a separate server, Hub and all clients must see the server as thesame drive letter i.e.
The Hub or stand alone maps tothe server as “I:”; each additional DataLyzer® module, satellites for example,must also map to the server as “I:” for the shared file links to displayproperly at all stations.During data entry, the user can press the “measuringinstruction” button to access the main measuring instructions window. This iswhere the attached files are available. Using screen buttons labeled with theirattached file's name, the user can view files that have been attached orassociated with the current characteristic. The button(s) will only appear ifthere is a file attached to the current characteristic. Press the “OK”button to in the measuring instructions window to close the CadKey viewer.Limitations to CadKey viewingBecause CadKey Viewer is meant solely for viewingspreadsheets, it is not possible to edit or save data within the program. Ifchanges need to be made, they must be made in the full CadKey software package.Within DataLyzer®, there are a few additionallimitations.
File extensions must be of the type.prt. Files withthe extension.PRT (capitalized) are not recognized by DataLyzer® Spectrum.If the file view is edited at all (including zooming,panning, or rotating), users must manually close the CadKey viewer afterviewing the file by pressing File/Exit in the CadKey viewer or pressing the “X”button in the upper right hand corner of the window.
